amoxicillin 650 mg tablets help to treat bacterial infections
In
addition to pneumonia, bronchitis (lung infections), ear, nose, throat, urinary
tract, and skin diseases, amoxicillin 500mg can also
treat bacterial infections. Additionally, it is effective when taken along with
other medications to treat Helicobacter, which causes ulcers. Amoxicillin
is a penicillin-like antibiotic. It inhibits the growth of bacteria.
Amoxicillin
cannot treat viral infections such as colds and flu. If you take antibiotics
when you aren't sick, you might get a resistant infection.

·
The drug
is available as a capsule, a tablet, a chewable tablet, and as a suspension
(liquid). With or without food, you take it every eight hours (three times a
day) or every 12 hours (twice a day). Treatment lasts as long as the infection
requires. Take amoxicillin 500mg tablets at the same time every day. If you do not understand
any part of the prescription label, ask your pharmacist to explain it to you.
Take the prescription label instructions seriously. Follow your doctor's
instructions regarding dosage and frequency.
·
Before
each use, shake the suspension well to mix the medication evenly. A child may
take the solution directly on the tongue or mix it with formula, water, milk,
fruit juice, or ginger ale, and then take it.
·
Chew or
crush the chewable tablets thoroughly before swallowing them.
·
Rather
than chewing or crushing the tablets and capsules, take them whole with a full
glass of water.
·
After a
few days of receiving amoxicillin, you should start to feel better. If your
symptoms don't improve or worsen, visit your doctor.
·
Even if
you feel better, keep taking amoxicillin until the prescription expires. The
bacteria in your infection may become resistant to antibiotics if you stop
