  • diarrhea

Serious side effects

 

Few people experience severe side effects from taking fluoxetine 20 mg capsules.

If you experience any of the following symptoms, call A&E right away.

  • Anxiety, or chest pain, or shortness of breath
  • Dizziness or faintness
  • Even when not having sex, you may experience painful erections that last more than four hours.
  • Especially bleeding that is excessive or cannot be stopped, such as nosebleeds or cuts that don't stop within ten minutes.

  • Low sodium can cause headaches, trouble focusing, memory problems, difficulty thinking, weakness, seizures, or loss of balance.

  • Bleeding gums or bruising that appears suddenly or that gets worse.

 

Dealing with side effects

 

Taking fluoxetine 20 mg tablet in the evening can reduce the likelihood of having a side effect since you'll be asleep when the level of medicine is highest in your body.

  • Feeling sick (nausea) - Try taking fluoxetine before or after meals. You may also benefit from avoiding rich and spicy foods.

Fluoxetine 40mg capsule and some medicines can interact and increase the risk of side effects. When you start fluoxetine, let your doctor know if you are taking any of the following medications:

  • Medication that affects your heartbeat - such as fluoxetine - can cause your heartbeat to speed up or stop
  • Other depression medicines. Even after discontinuing usage of fluoxetine for a few weeks, some rare antidepressants can cause high blood pressure.

 

Combining fluoxetine with herbal remedies and supplements

While taking fluoxetine, you should not use a herbal remedy for depression because it may cause side effects.
